It is running on 1.2, it doesn't need to run on 1.2.1.
So when you join with 1.2.1, it gives you that error because it's running on 1.2.

I agree, it's extremely stupid. The Zandro crowd is getting split in two, with server clusters which already fixed the bug 1.2.1 fixes not upgrading to 1.2.1, and people who want the extra security 1.2.1 offers but can't join any servers because of it.

It's a fucking mess of a situation all around, and the server clusters that aren't upgrading are just complicating it even more.
