Last one I played was HoMM V (I refuse to call the series MM:H), loved the fuck off II and III, skipped IV. Google'd that it is in its VII installment.
Should I play VI or VII? VI and VII? Only VI? Only VII? They're on Erathia?
Is there an VIII in production?
