/vr/ - Retro Games

I gave it a shot. The story seems pretty good but the gameplay itself is just so "been there done that". I used to play turn based RPG games all the time, but at some point I just got fed up with watching numbers go up and down all day.

So I tried to play it and didn't get far. The game itself is just something only someone new to RPG games or a nostalgic admirer would still appreciate. I'm not saying it's a bad game at all, but to me it's just a dime-a-dozen RPG NES game.

I also want to make clear that I'm not disputing the fact you should or shouldn't like it, because I still love FFIX due to nostalgia and I can play it for that reason. If I played this back in the day when pretty much all I had was Mario Bros. and Ninja Gaiden, then yeah I would have eaten it up. Now though, it just can't hold my attention.
