I told my little cousin that you can unlock Luigi in Mario 64 by collecting every single coin in the game without dying once, including the ones in castle and the courtyard. It had to be done in one sitting as well. My other cousin went along with it and told him the same thing so that it's more believable. We made shit up about how Luigi's jumps are completely different. The first jump is just the normal jump with more height, the second is the sparkling jump you get from Yoshi and the third is a really high jump that causes Luigi to twirl down slowly, like when you jump on certain enemies.

He believed that for years. Why didn't the people who own the game all have Luigi? Because they were obviously not skilled enough to unlock him.
