Have you ever gone back to the classic start of a series you liked and been less than impressed?

I've had that experience with Ace Combat, or rather Air Combat. I can't speak for the arcade game it's a port of, but my god is the original rough. Its biggest flaw is probably the lack of dual analog control, which isn't entirely the game's fault, but all the same. Other AC games on the same system feel generations ahead, only a little behind their PS2 and later entries in terms of the actual control and moment to moment gameplay.

Lots of kino released this year, it was pretty hard to choose.

I want to start playing this series, should I just start with pic related?
