>I still don't fully understand how it works
Pretend it's the 90s and euro-you has a laserdisc player and a big blurry chinese rear projection TV that you use to impress plebs even though you watch your scart crt when it's just you. You'd hook the composite ins up to the outputs of the LD and the outputs to the big screen so the signal goes from the player through the CRT and terminate in the big screen just like the loops on your PVM (probably)

I even have a similar setup right now in my living room only with component passing through the PVM and into the plasma

Not her but her "TV" is a 10 inch PVM monitor similar to the 14" you can see in my upstairs battlestation at the lower left of the 60"

I've got a couplei "cute" 13" trons up here but she isn't gonna play split screen on that, no matter how laughably short these Gamecube controller cords are. Pic related for size comparison. I guess I better go to my places and try to pick up one or two Gamecube extension cables.

Uh... thanks? I HAVE slept down there on the engineering deck many times, or "passed out" may be more accurate but no I have the woke rest of the house for somewhat more respectable appearances/comfort/etc. Here's the main bridge display.

LOL she wouldn't nag me but she deserves a decently normal living area to impress friends and family or whatever. The basement is basically like my bachelor pad was but even more stockpiled and let's say "casual" so she likes that nostalgia of the flavor from when we first met.

Have spent much less time down there since we had a son, hence why the upstairs battlestation is crowding the limits of good taste. Putting in this 60" plasma for Christmas helped balance the retro stuff nicely though.

>WHY are plasmas better than CRT's for low light?
It was just a line I overheard while my wife was watching How I Met Your Mother and it starting with that statement immediately perked my ears up since if anything plasma is brighter with better intensity. Maybe the writer was talking about glare?

I recently put up a 60" plasma in the living room for Christmas and not only did the actual glass make it devastatingly heavy to hoist up to the height I'm accustomed, the glare is shocking.
