Free, just like the 20L5.
The 1944Q came from an old engineering company in town that did a lot of video processing solutions. Went on a tour with a professor of mine, impressed the guide engineer guy with my knowledge of analog video, and he gave me the 1944Q when I spotted it and recognized that it had RGB inputs. They had 4 of them and the engineer guy decided they could let one go from storage. The 20L5 came from a PBS station in town and saw a lot more use than the 1944Q did, but was also free.

In this pic I was messing with the trimmer for the red gun so you'll see that the coloration is a bit off.

Was digging around in my old photos and I found a better comparison of my 20L5 and 1944Q. Turned the lights out and didn't use flash, and you can see the difference more clearly.

Here's the 20L5 compared to the 1944Q if anyone's interested. The 1944Q is quite nice but harder to calibrate than the 20L5. Had to spend a lot of time with color bars to get it looking right. If you can't find a reasonably priced 20L5 (Mine was free), I can recommend the 1944Q as a good model, though it is quite a bit older and does not support 480p or 1080i.
