Yes.
While I'm not against the GBC, since it's basically the same thing but with colors, there's something about the art direction of the OG game boy games that just works well being monochrome. The artists who made the graphics for these games clearly had the monochrome aspect into account, and they tried their best to make them look as good as possible within the limitation, which gives it a lot of soul.
Take Link's Awakening DX for example, the colors are fine, it's not ugly, but you can notice that sometimes the tiles clash a bit with the different colors, whereas on monochrome it's a more seamless aesthetic.
It's subtle and I admit a lot of it is also nostalgia, but I genuinely do think that many games benefit from being displayed in monochrome.
The GBC still has its own appeal if played on original hardware though. dot-matrix screens are just so nice.
