19XX is very good if you play it for score otherwise the first 4 stages are kind of dull and too easy. The last boss is nuts though ,don't know what Capcom was thinking making him harder than all previous bosses combined.

I realized this a month or two before I quit playing rpgs altogether. If you want faster action play action games, beat em ups, shoot em ups, fighters, run n guns, etc etc.

if they weren't designed to be fun they would have never succeeded in getting quarters and turning a profit, dumbfuck. It's not like they reward players with shiny new loot, character progression and gambling mechanics like modern games, arcade games were all skill and punishment based.

Not really, you have infinite replays due to save states, and your decision making can be slow as fuck since a turn could take as long as you want. There's very little risk and challenge in turn-based rpgs, unless you start handicapping the fuck out of your party.
