Ninja Gaiden - Finally! I gave this one a serious go 5 years ago but got filtered by 6-2. Picked it up again this year and beat it. 10/10 game.
-
Megaman classic series - Never actually beat these. Great games. Found 2 the most frustrating and least fun, despite its reputation.
-
DKC 3 - Hated kiddy so I never gave it a fair shot. Worst of the trilogy but still better than 95% of 2d platformers. Good game, good soundtrack.
-
Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana - Known about it forever, but never bothered playing it. Absolutely fantastic graphics and great music too, but the gameplay is pretty bad. Would have worked much better as a turn based game.
-
Twinkle Tale (easy) - fun game, not sure I want to try for normal or hard though.
-
Sunset Riders - Missed this one despite being a fan of Konami's games. Really awesome game and the arcade original is actually balanced for an average player instead of being bullshit.
-
I also replayed a bunch of retro games, some for the first time in years, but these are the ones I beat for the first time.

The first 6th gen console, the Dreamcast, was running games at double the resolution and triple the framerate of previous gen systems. For the first time, you had a home console that could generate 3d graphics that weren't an eyesore. The PS2 followed that up with a mindblowing launch.

Compare this to the 5th gen. Playstation is actually less capable at 2d graphics than the Neo Geo (1990 tech), and 3d graphics were primitive with awful texture mapping. Compared to what everyone could play at an arcade it was clearly a massively limited experience. N64 made some waves with actually playable 3d platformers and the like, but the framerate and resolution on that thing was insanely low. 6th gen was just an insane boost in technology.

Nope, once existing ones die, future generations will literally never experience the perfect motion and soft glow of a CRT. Feels good to know that no one in the future will ever have it as good as me.

>RE:make is THE defining game of the entire survival horror genre
It's not even the defining RE game.

PVMs are for people who got started playing retro games through emulators. They miss the look of the games the way they got used to them, so they choose to use PVMs to get pixelshit while saving their credibility and self image by using a CRT, which is obviously the only way for someone with a little dignity to play.

There is nothing authentic about these people and the amount of money they waste lying to themselves is pathetic.

Either that or you're unimaginative as fuck and do whatever your favorite e-celeb recommend because you have no significant personality of your own.

It's expansion hardware. Last time I looked, we were cool with expansion co-processors in Nintendo cartridges.
