i got this TV brand new in 2004 and have been pretty happy with it. unfortinately my model will not let you adjust geometry in the H direction (or pincushion/keystone etc) but no matter
when i hook up systems with component support (sega,n64, etc) it looks good to me.

Well good news anyways. I grabbed another 3.5mm cable I had, and retried soldering right to the board. It worked. Apparently I had a faulty cord I was using the first time around. So sending audio right from the av multi pins works great. No buzzing and full stereo thanks everyone and good evening. Here's a pic of my tv with rgb Genesis to stay on topic
