Honestly? Don't, just write a scoring system with ACS and Decorate/ZScript, that's doable, and you won't need a special fork port.

Boom Power is a mod where enemies explode as they die, causing possible chain reactions, which gets counted as combos, this gives you multipliers on score, which is shown with a counter on your screen.
You could easily make something like this without the explosion part, and just have things count score for killing enemies and picking up items.
