I would try not to take these autists too seriously. Some of beamdogs content is fairly cringe worthy. But this is coming from a fan of the originals, the EE editions are the most up to date player friendly versions of the game to date. The originals have extremely ugly ui and are overall not as user friendly.

It's absolutely made with a sense of humor, but that doesn't mean it's not intended as pornographic material too.
Making sprites, and especially lengthy animations, is a LOT of work, and I doubt he'd put in as much effort as he actually has if he wasn't serious about it.

Doom is great in it's standard form (even the gimped ports are fun), but it just keeps on giving, the core gameplay mechanics are solid and basic enough, and the modding & mapping is basic enough, that a large community is regularly providing good content for decades after it's release.

I love Doom.
