On my last playthrough of Mother 2 on GBA I pick PK APE (one of the defaults), thought it was funny

Here's the thing,

It's a fine game overall. The gameplay is weak, but the writing makes up for it. I mean the writing as in the dialogue and some of the item descriptions and all that crap, rather than the overall story (Which is also nice, but doesn't stray too far from a typical "chosen one saves the world" story until the end when it gets weird)

I still put it as one of my favorite games for the writing. It's definitely nostalgia influenced, but I played Mother 3 last year and actually liked it, possibly more than EB.

Unfortunately, most of the fanbase goes apeshit over how it's the best game ever made, which isn't true. This in turn spawned a bunch of people who think it's awful because somehow thought it'd live up to the insane fanbase hype, or people who are just being edgy because it's not literally the best game (snes game, jrpg, whatever) of all time.

It's fun and worth playing, but honestly it doesn't pick up until about Happy Happy Village, which is a good few hours into the game.

I didn't notice it was named after my favorite thing until like, very late in the game. Mine was Games, so it was PK Games.

On my GBA run on the 1+2 cart I choosed APE (one of the fefault things), and I imagine PK APE to be a big monkey made of psychedelic colors throwing bones to the enemies
