Right. Hexen has some of my favorite ice mechanics in vidya.

>freezing actually kills the target, they don't thaw out
>frozen corpse can be used as a shield to block enemy projectiles
>frozen enemies can be pushed around and even used as platforms
>shattering something doesn't sound like glass breaking
>ice chunks remain on the floor and slowly melt

As much as I love the Freezethrower I hate how enemies thaw out after they're frozen. That and how they turn that ugly bright blue color upon freezing. I think Hexen did it best.

>get frozen = death
>can push frozen corpses around
>can be used as shields to block a projectile
>enemies actually look they were frozen with icicles and shit hanging off of them
>can still be shattered
>shattering leaves pieces of ice on the ground that melt over time
