I find FireRed/LeafGreen still pretty mediocre though, it's just a fresh coat of paint over Red/Blue, only with Ruby/Sapphire battle mechanics and compatibility. Sevi Islands were shit.

Heart Gold/Soul Silver are fantastic remakes though.

Everything else but Black/White 1 I have found pretty good at the very least
