Would it be possible to 3D print the shell and cut down the diameter of a normal 3.5 floppy to the size of Mitsumi’s QuickDisk 2.8? I know you can use a FDSStick to emulate the disk system but thats not autistic enough.

storage was magnetic.
wouldnt have been much of an improvement, but would have made piracy easier.

similar to the japanese Famicom disk drive.

So you're telling me this whole time, the versions people know and play of "classics" like Zelda, Castlevania, and Metroid are not even the original versions but somewhat lesser ports? It would be one thing if the NES/Famicom versions came first, and then enhancements were added later for the FDS editions. But as it is, these games and others are FDS originals and thus the situation is reversed where the NES/Famicom versions are pared-back and merely derivative to the original FDS releases.

When emulating, why don't people emulate the FDS versions? They have more complex sound and sometimes enhanced graphics. This extends to many games, and then there are also FC originals which later got enhanced FDS releases.
