Why is Snatcher, babby's first visual novel, so overrated, /vr/?

I remember back in first year university mentioning that I had an old SEGA CD to a friend of mine and he mentioned how much he wanted to play Snatcher. When I went back to my Podunk town of 16,000 people I saw a used copy of it there for two bucks at our local pawn shop. I thought "Yeah I've heard good things about this, for $2 I'll give it a try" Boy did that ever work out for me.

While I don't consider it cheap, I got a copy of Snatcher (CD, case, and manual) and a Sega CD for $120 about 7 years ago. Looks like similar copies go for between $300-400 now on Ebay. Disc's alone for about $150.

I've always loved the voice acting in the Sega CD version of Snatcher. It's far better than nearly every other video game English dub that was out at the time and still holds up fairly well today; you can really tell that Konami cared to put out something good. One of these days I'm gonna have to try out one of the Japanese versions to see how the Japanese voice acting compares.

Boring gameplay like Sunset Riders Minigame on Easy Mode.
Keep hitting look and investigate until random event triggers.
Puzzles are obvious and less interaction than a point and click adventure game.
Story is a bad ripoff of Blade Runner and Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Music is about 10 seconds long per area and repeats endlessly
Still pictures that have less movement to them than a cheap anime.
Literally repeats exactly what happened last three times many times throughout the game. (A bomb? A bomb! Oh no, a bomb!!)
100% the game in an afternoon
No replay value
