I remember back then being a fan of a comic called Rurouni Kenshin, and one of the author's influences was Samurai Spirits. The author was more of a Marvel fan but got more into Japanese history due to working on the comic. That same comic in turn inspired the SNK Last Blade series. It was a nice turnaround of influence and even better: a great game. A shame there were only 2 home console releases and a couple of portable titles in the series.

Possible, but I don't think anyone has documented it. I don't think there is much room in most controllers to fit the mechanical parts for the springs and microswitches onto the PCB without a 3D print replacing the top shell. I have seen people scavenge parts from Madcatz controllers to make a joystick, but there's potentially a lot more space to work with for a stick. I know PDP and Hyperkin makes controllers with microswitch "d-pads".

The NeoGeo Pad2 for the PS1/2 has shoulder buttons and 6 face buttons. There are lots of PS1/2 to other console adapters available, but I don't know of any that converts to bluetooth.

Others on this board seem to really like 8bitdo, Buffalo, Cirka, Hyperkin, Tomee, RetroLink, RetroUSB, Retrobit, and even now Krikzz has gotten into making wireless old-styled controllers. I guess maybe the new duke controllers from Hyperkin may have the space to graft a NeoGeo pad's thumbstick onto.

For what? That's SVC, which is a NeoGeo game. I just can't afford a NeoGeo nor its games. Anyway there are NGPC SVC games there too.

Hibiki is very cool character-wise, but in CVS she is a challenge to use to match up with other characters. She's not as difficult as my death lineup described earlier, but she's almost there for me.

I thought the locating bump (the braille dot on the d-pad) is supposed to point up, your pic has it on the left.

I know the PDP pads >>4184503 and >>4184505 posted and the Retron 5 has a similar kind of microswitched thumb pad. However it may be a placebo effect, but I think the actual NeoGeo Pad 2 and NeoGeo Pocket microswitched thumb pad feels quite different. It is hard to explain, and since I am not accurate with this style of d-pad (so not the best to judge), I would describe the difference from the SNK to the PDP/Hyperkin would be the SNK ones feel more "solid underneath" where it has more defined cardinal directions and less prone for me to hit a diagonal than the PDP/Hyperkin one (even though I still do a lot with my bad hands).

I missed out. Couldn't afford them then, and definitely not now.

My local Funko Pop! store has a couple for under $15 each, worth it or is it well overpriced?

For 16-bit consoles, I would agree with >>3924229 either Garou or Last Blade 2 on the NeoGeo would better. Sorry about the pic, I cannot afford a NeoGeo.

SSF2 on SNES/Gen had Cammy which I always approve of (but I main charge characters) but I spent more time on base Turbo on SNES. I think the sounds and overall feel of SF2T on SNES is a bit more "solid" than SSF2 on SNES.

I think Capcom put their C-team (not even B-team) on the Genesis ports. Even when Sega has the rights to reprogram Capcom games for their own Genesis port, they tend to mess up something. I am impressed with Pyron's recoloring of some of the games, and the voice driver patch for SF2T:

Sadly no one has redone the music for the Genesis SSF2 yet to my knowledge, but once that happens, I'd probably want one of those Chinese bootlegs to be made with all those ROM hacks combined for the Genesis.

I swear I saw the stream of the side tournament of Endless Duel a couple EVOs back on the anime fighters side streams or salty suite stream.

I too would suggest to emulate. The games are still super costly as they were back then. Already mentioned on this thread are some of my favorites

Shooting: Pulstar, Blazing Star
Sports: Windjammers, Dunk Dream
Fighting: Last Blade 2, Garou:MotW,
Puzzle: Money Idol Exchanger, Puzzle De Pon
Single Screen: Nightmare in the Dark

and >>3376140 was right with Twinkle Star Sprites, it is so good, but I only have it for Dreamcast and I wish to get it on Saturn
