You wouldn't claim rupestrian cave paintings to be the absolute most historically and culturally important paintings

Oh and I just realized OP was referring to rpgs in general, not just jrpgs. that does change things a bit but it seems like the entirety of the thread is exclusively discussing jrpgs.
