I have a CRT TV with a dark splotch in the upper left corner that is most visible on the blue screen that shows when nothing is plugged in.
It looks like pic related.
I have seen other CRTs with the same problem, sometimes in more than one corner.

Is this caused by:

a. Warped shadowmask caused by overheating from high constrast settings -unfixable

b. Magnetic distortion caused by speakers or other nearby magnets nearby -fixable with a degaussing coil

c. Colour error caused by misaligned purity yoke -fixable by taking off the back and adjusting the neck of the CRT
