I know that Castle of Illusion, World of Illusion and Castle of Illusion (8-Bit) are all beloved for good reason, and Land of Illusion also gets its love here and there for being a sort of Mickey MetroidVania... but barely anyone talks about Legend of Illusion, I mean, I sort of get it, it's a 1995 Game Gear title, and 1998 Master System title thanks to TecToy, believe it or not, crazy...

Also, while both Castle of Illusion and Land of Illusion on SEGA's 8-Bit consoles were made by SEGA themselves, Legend of Illusion was made by Aspect, which are still good, but a bit budget.

It's probably the weakest in the series, I get it, but I love how it looks, sounds and feels, it's the easiest one by far, but that makes it comfortable to play, and that's what Disney's all about to me.

SOVL is often an "argument" used to justify the enjoyment one finds in mediocre titles which in their time, and even now, weren't well received by most people. A lot of the time it can be kind of challenging to explain exactly what makes us enjoy a title we recognize isn't the highest in its quality, a lot of the times it's nostalgia or their charm, so SOVL just sort of encompasses it all.

I was thinking about posting a screenshot from one of the levels in "Legend of Illusion" starring Mickey Mouse, for Game Gear and Master System, but I couldn't decide which one, there are so many levels there that look comfortable and sound just as relaxing too, it's by far the easiest installment in the Illusion series, the Disney/SEGA classic from the 90's, and I know that to many this could be disappointing, but to me this makes it so replayable, it's something I know I'll start up and enjoy from start to finish in a comfortable and sweet manner, if you haven't ever played this one... I can't recommend it enough.

At first I thought Legend of Illusion wasn't a good send off to the franchise, until the new installments came out in recent years that is, but the more I play it, the more I appreciate how comfortable and replayable it actually is, good stuff.
