I miss when we just got a lot of weird fighting games beyond just whatever FGC shit is approved.

I wonder if Square would have kept riding their highly productive and weirdly experimental phase had they not bled all that money on Spirits Within. I imagine they would have hit a wall sooner rather than later eventually but it is a curious dream to think about had it continued more well into the PS2 life. Tragic really. That movie deserves every bit of scorn for what it caused alone.

Why the actual fuck don't they re-release this game? It could have online play. I'd buy it the day it came out!

Bushido Blade. 2 was ok but 1 is my favorite fighting game. No life bars or special moves. 1 hit K.O. Wish there were more games in this style.

This game was pretty good and has a innovative combat system never seen to this day

Look at Squaresoft's output of games between, oh say 1997 and 2002. They put out something like 40 fucking games and 4 final fantasy. Because costs where lower too, developers didn't have to be so risk adverse, so a RPG company could try making, MULTIPLE, fighting games.

I am sad. My favorite game is forgotten.
