Even though I was born in '92, I was lucky enough to grow up with an older brother who had all the consoles of the era so I was able to play just about everything in my youth. Even though I definitely recognize the SNES as a good console, I prefer the Genesis library by a mile. It's easy to create a long, arbitrary list of games you prefer and act like your opinon is fact, but it isn't. In reality, it means shit. Most people, especially back when these consoles were popular, weren't going to own more than 10~20 games (and that is a stretch). So for me, when I look at the best 20 games on both consoles, the Genesis is an easy pick. Gunstar Heroes, Golden Axe, Sonic, Gauntlet, Landstalker, Beyond Oasis, Rocket Knight, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, etc. SNES was home to some fantastic games as well, but at the end of the day, I just don't enjoy them as much as those present on Genesis.

Both were great consoles. This is obvious bait, but I really wish the shitflinging over these consoles would end. If you didn't own and play the best of both, you missed out. Fact.
