>if he weren't such a fucking loser at getting it across
Exactly, which kind of sucks because audio was never really talked about much in these threads, and I would have liked it to become more of a subject, but I feel like the blatant shitposting on the part of audiocuck-anon has precluded any legitimate discussion of audio in future threads. My plea is simply that if you have the room for it, you should just try it, even if you don't think you care. It's not expensive, at all, and hearing the bass of a punch or a kick in Turtles in Time when it comes from a respectably-sized woofer might be enough to change your mind. Go replay one of your favorite games with a good stereo, it'll really give you more to appreciate.

Like, there's a bit in Chrono Trigger right before you climb up to fight Giga Gaia and the screen goes dark and there's an ominous rumble. I've played the game a hundred times on regular TVs and that moment barely even registered, but last weekend I must have climbed up and down that chain like 20 times just to hear the sound effect again because it was positively visceral.

Yeah, that's a nice chair. It might be a little too close, but sometimes I find myself playing that close, anyway. Depending on what I'm doing, I might scoot even closer to the screen. For JRPGs and easy adventure games, I sit further back to take it in, but if I'm playing a crazy shooter or a run n' gun, I've almost got my nose pressed up against the damn thing.

>Literally nobody in any battlestation thread ever is playing a game in their pics, retard.
I mean, nobody ever takes selfies, but there are usually a few pics in every thread with a game running.

TA-F6B. It's one of the nicest consumer amps Sony ever made. I wouldn't hunt one down unless you're serious about audio quality, they usually cost multiple hundreds of dollars.

If you just want something that has lamp-lit wattage meters, Kenwood, Technics and Akai make some cheaper stuff with a similar aesthetic.

Got a random urge to start a new game of Chrono Trigger tonight. Haven't played it since the DS remake. Warmed up the lava lamp, too. Just cleaned and hooked up the Sony TA-F6B amp I nabbed on ebay. In gorgeous shape, sounds amazing. Decided to quit for now because a friend of mine is gonna visit next weekend and we're gonna try to marathon the whole game.
