Obviously this is far from the best way to play this today but it's still impressive considering this is running on 1994 hardware
You have to remember the absolute top desktop CPU from 1994 (Pentium 100) would only run Quake at around 25 FPS at 320x200 and I wouldn't be surprised if the CPU alone cost as much as the Saturn

I love the music and visuals of SHMUPs but what's the point of even having lives in almost any game that has powerups? Past a certain point it gets ridiculously difficult if you die and have to play without powerups
