There are a few revisions to the stock DC controller. The original ones had very little support for the pivot point on the triggers when they reduced the plastic thickness from the Saturn pad to lower costs, but that caused a lot of them to break. They had a D-pad which conformed more to the curvature of the whole controller at first. Later editions, starting around the Millennium 2000 line of transparent controllers, the D-pad became raised significantly, using more plastic for its taller profile. While standard Dreamcast controllers function, >>10295371 is correct since they are only for smaller than average sized hands to even "use" so I recommend the Ascii Pad FT, custom arcade sticks, or adapters such as >>10295583 suggested to get better controllers connected.

I really like Triggerheart Exelica. It was also on PS2 and 360, but the Dreamcast original was where I first experienced it. I think it's anchor mechanic is the unique defining feature that I find fun. I think SF3 and Alpha 3 are pretty well known games in their day, but I guess that time has passed and they may have become an unknown flash in the pan which is sad to me since I still know very well of them.

Give Mars Matrix a try. It gives the player a lot of options for just 1 button gameplay.

I consider the Dreamcast and N64 Bangaioh different, not quite a port. The mechanics are somewhat different such that it is not quite a sequel nor a full on port.

It was kind of expected at the time. I quit video games a bit after, primarily due to a lack of funds, but it did give me a decent reason demonstrating that the kinds of games I like are not favored by the rest of the world. Imagine like watching someone pass away in hospice, you know it was inevitable, and they did get replaced by a better company, so video games are in a better place, but I still enjoyed my time with Sega consoles.

I really enjoyed GigaWing 2. The characters exaggeratedly yells out "REFLECT FORCE" and "REFLECTO LAZAAAA" all the time, especially playing it 4-player, it was unfair to the enemy bosses.

I had really wanted to see Cammy in 3D back then which convinced me to splurge the $30USD it went for.
