It must be nice for the marketers to have a preinstalled consumer base of kids who have absolutely no fucking idea how any of this hardware works but are completely convinced they do because of said marketers. It's like the perfect storm of uninformed consumers desperate to buy into overpriced electronics because, unlike a software emulator on a phone or PC, this piece of modern snakeoil allows them to use actual game carts for the "authentic" nostalgic experience they weren't alive for in the first place. I have absolutely nothing but respect for Analogue. They've convinced an entire swarm of kiddos with disposable income that hardware emulation is (at least in 2021) not only superior to software emulation with decades of work behind it, but that hardware emulation isn't even emulation at all and FPGAs are magical wizard chips and anyone who disagrees is either a " poorfag hater" or "doesn't know what they're talking about." The irony is almost palpable.

THIS is good marketing, and I salute them for it.
