Even if the modding scene made some big leaps it surely got worse for the fanbase.
This fight between old and new fans got even worse with the release of Nu-Doom.

The drama reaching absurd levels of idiocy where it didn't involve Doom itself.

The few memes like "Rip and Tear" have been done to death. Very few artists that popped out were actually worth following.
Now the most popular make either meme shit or lewds.

Even the Animal Crossing meme overstayed its welcome to the point it was embarassing.

I swear the modding scene is slowly becoming the only thing worth following the Doom community.
