I enjoyed the story and world, also the art direction was far superior it gave me somewhat of a challenge when I was younger because at that point platformers had become much too easy for me.

It was great for what it was and had intersting power-ups and levels, but it didn't stand the test of time.

Innovative, but it was really just a tech-demo for what was to come. It aged poorly compared to the top row.

again art direction and music. Those sprites aged like shit. Also it was piss easy even when I was younger, cleared the mondo levels with ease.

piss easy, could clear it when I was 9, alot of repedative shit in gameplay, it's not even a mario game, it's doki-doki panic. Also many of the enemies like fry-guy and mouser are shit tier designs

Art direction went down the fucking toliet, Massanori Sato was ejected from art direction from the project and started making characters that looked like fucking reject muppets, and it was in a really dull setting.
