Dude, all of this shit is 20+ years old at this point. There is no "inherent advantage" to any CRT, other than how much or how little abuse it has seen. You have to test stuff in person. It is like the single most important rule to buying CRTs. Literally the ONE rule. Even stuff that should be better on paper might actually suck a a ball and a half because of how fucking rek't it is. Even if that XBR48 was touted as a better TV by the pope himself, it's up to YOU to go take a look at it and see if it actually is, because you don't know what kind of shit that fucker has seen. Could have been owned by a blue-haired old lady who kept it on 24/7 to keep the oppressive, deafening silence from claiming her will to live. You never know. Unless you don't actually love your current TV for some reason, I wouldn't stress over it.
