Four years before Super Metroid a new franchise had been spawned into the SNES.
In order to showcase and perfect the sprite-twisting technique of the MODE 7, Miyamoto envisioned a new kind of racing game, one where the vehicles would be floating, forcing the player to contend with the anti-gravity mechanics they were not used to.

The game came to be known as F-Zero, and was also a must-have title for the blooming SNES at the time.

30 years old, and I JUST got this game. This shit is amazing, and Super Mario Kart was like 70% of my childhood, but are there any other great racing games on SNES or Genesis?
