The motivation for starting next thing is looped into finishing current thing. It's just a discipline thing. At most, you write the new idea down in a brief form somewhere so you can return to it when you are ready to start a new thing, but otherwise any such motivations are channeled around into 'get on with current thing so we can move on to next thing'.
Once you start bargaining with yourself or allowing yourself to work on multiple things in parallell, it's fucking over. Don't do that. It's just chasing a dopamine rush of a new exciting thing that will always, always get boring once you've seen the basic part take shape in the first 20% of your effort.
