Earth/Bomber was a weird transition, but what I find even stranger is that, despite how rare regular humans are in the series, Saturn Bomberman and later substituted the early established humans with very similar characters. Dr. Mitsumori became Dr. Ein (one game even called him the "creator of Bomberman), Dr. Mook became Dr. Mechado, and flamboyant Carat Diamond was replaced with the even more flamboyant Mujoe. According to unused sprites Dr. Mook at least was going to appear in some form in Super 2 (maybe he was originally planned to be the Dastardly Bombers' creator?) but was rejected. The only character unaccounted for is Mitsumori's daughter Lisa, who has no clear human replacement. If there's a real Super R2, I'd like for the Bomberman Bros.' creator to be "Dr. Ein Mitsumori" to sort of explain away that inconsistency.
