I have a small VGA CRT monitor and a Tendak HDMI to VGA converter, with a small NUC coming in the mail Friday.

What resolution do I output? Is there a way to have the ability to hot swap between the CRT and a modern display?

Someone said RetroArch automatically does this, but that the MAME core lags by a frame.

Will I need to save various ini's and swap them whenever I switch displays for each emulator I use if not using RetroArch?

I was hoping to use a front end like Attract Mode and pick and choose my emulators.
