Anyone else play this? It's getting a rerelease soon that is supposed to only provide stuff like better support for modern PCs and stability fixes, but not changing anything else.

Have you played Severance Blade of Darkness? Or it was called Edge of Darkness I think in Spain. One of my favorite games developed in Spain and it seems to have gotten a little more popular lately.

Tried it once a long time ago but it kept crashing so I just gave up. Recently tried it again and loved it, gameplay is great but it has a really nice atmosphere too.

Yeah I never found those really basic "secrets" satisfying, it's just a door that opens in a different but obvious way.

I liked the secrets in pic related though. You had to look around for a hidden path or door and then there was still a puzzle or some tight platforming or something after that. Feels satisfying to know you found a secret area and enjoyable when you still have more to do after finding it.

Often shilled as the "proto dark souls". Anyone who has played this game? What did you think of it?
Basically abandonware now but you can find an old GOG release.

I'm trying to run it on W10 but getting a lot of issues, followed the guide on pc gaming wiki but still have an issue: game was designed in 4:3, but using dgVoodoo 2 it only shows in stretched widescreen. Has anyone here managed to get it to run in proper aspect ratio on 10?

It gets a lot easier once you start using the VFX slowmo more often especially during the helicopter fight.

Pic related is probably the closest thing to a "retro Dark Souls" though. There are multiple times in the game where it really felt like DS lifted some things it did with combat and level design and I think it actually does some things better than DS.
