Nigger, what are you on about? I'm playing the Ultima 1 as my first Ultima right now and I'm having mad fun. Pic related, just got done doing a quest for Lord British.

I'm only a few hours in and I'm already overflowing with food, cash and health. Whoever thought this game was hard to get into clearly fails at RPGs on all levels. It gets even easier once you find out how to quickly increase your stats. It may or may not spike in difficulty later on though, since I haven't played that into it far yet.

Graphics are primitive, but do have a certain charm to them. I really like them. The only thing I'm disappointed about is the lack of music, but I don't think many games even had that at the time of its original release. All in all, it's very novel in that it's a barebones game that manages to get all its core elements intact and provides more freedom to fuck around in than your average corridor crawler to boot. Screw anyone saying it's unplayable.
