Dark lands. It doesn't need a sequel though, but what I would love would be a very similar game with similar premise in a different setting, like warring states japan, Persia, india

Alright /vr/, let's hear some opinions on Darklands.

I'm concerned about its procedural generation. I want to know how much of it there actually is before I commit to it and learn the mechanics. I've heard that even the quests are procedurally generated, but there's really only a few quest types, so you're doing the same thing over and over. This reminds me of SM's Pirates, and I hate everything about that game; Darklands is made by one of the top designers of Pirates too, so I'm wondering if it's Pirates the RPG.

Basically, I'm asking what the ratio of handcrafted content to procedural content is. The only time I enjoy procedural generation is in X-Com because it just worked there. I don't like Daggerfall, I don't like messing around in a game, I want a purpose and a sense of progression.
