>Nintendo has always kept all the localization names canon
>Konami just completely ignores dumb gaijin bullshit
>Capcom still has to deal with its wacky localization bullshit

Could you image Konami bending over backwars like this to justify all the dumb localization retardation of the Metal Gear series?

It's not bad (it's the better of the two NES Metal Gears), but it's pretty flawed.

>Your codec buddies are completely useless in the game, with most of their advice being too vague or ambiguous to be of any actual use. "There's a gas room on that base"? Thanks for narrowing it down, Nick.
>Side-view segments are annoying filler with confusing control that well. Like why the hell is Snake dropping plastic explosives while he's crouching? I'm using the knife, not the handgun. At least dropping an explosive doesn't trigger an alert like on the overhead segments.
>Most of the obstacles rely on stocking up replenishable items ahead of time. For example, to get pass the first underwater tunnel in the first side-view segment, you need at least two oxygen tanks to refill your gauge. But the only oxygen tank prior to that is in a gas-filled room, which means you to enter the room twice, which means you end up losing a bit of health anyway.
>Speaking of which, the game has stages instead of being open-world like the MSX Metal Gears. This by itself wouldn't be bad, if it wasn't for the desert base which requires a mine detector to get through without being damaged.
>Pretty bad writing. One part of the game involves an enemy spy disguised as one of your buddies, who tries to lead into traps. But his advice are so blatantly false, it's easy to see through the ruse the first time it happens.

These are the only legitimate flaws I could think of that don't involve "muh canon".

Yeah, Konami's old localizations were filled with pop culture references.
