Many backgrounds are missing, but we have photographs of most of the rooms. The geometries and door placements are evident on the official maps contained on the disc (which largely reflect the 80% final build's layout). The maps, being pixel-precise, also have a conversion key from pixels to meters. Therefore, we know the exact measurements and dimensions of the rooms, and where the doors are placed. Guesswork is limited to items of furniture and decor for a handful of rooms (but as I said, we have photographs of most of the missing rooms).
