Really? I have two besides my bed and one usually plugged into my PC. If i go somewhere over night i take one with me to charge my phone. Besides, most people i know have at least one.
with an OTG you could also charge the device with your phone so you wouldn't even have to sit next to a wall or whatever.
I can see how batteries are widely available but i can buy a micro usb cable on a gas station if stores are closed so meh..

the LDK uses the same battery as old nokia phones iirc

If i would design a handheld i would use a li-ion like pic related because they are cheap and widely available but using batteries from phones is fine too because it eliminates the chance to not get a working one if they die
