I'm pretty sure Sonic Adventure all but confirms this in your first boss battle with him.

Sonic: "Look! It's a giant talking egg!"
Dr. Robotnik: "Silence! I am Dr. Robotnik, the greatest scientific genius in the world!"
Sonic: "Whatever you say, Eggman!"

Then in Sonic Adventure 2, when he has a theme song titled, "I am The Eggman", I always felt like as though that was Robotnik taking Sonic's little insult and owning it. Takes away the power it has when he's using it on himself.

He absolutely does, I just can't remember where exactly. I could have sworn it was in Sonic Adventure 2 as one of his death lines when you fight him as Tails, but I can't find anything. He always calls him Tails except in one instance when he actually calls him Miles.

I'm pretty skeptical of fandubs, but honestly, the Bulk Slash fandub was OK. I can see why they decided to dub the game instead of TLing it. A lot of the actual dialogue was presented in-game and there didn't seem to be a separate sprite-layer to insert translated text. I'm guessing this game has a similar situation.
