/vr/ - Retro Games

I'm going to put together a Pentium 3 build, any recommendations on motherboards? I've seen people say ISA slots are important but I'm not sure if it matters for me. Will the model of Sound Blaster soundcard affect what games I can play? It's unclear if some games won't support some models.
I was planning on a Voodoo 3 video card but am open to other suggestions. Also a general reminder that Direct X version, drivers, or operating system have nothing to do with determining if a platform is retro, it just depends on if the hardware is pre-2000.
Are flat screen computer monitors bad with geometry like the flat TVs are? Should I get a curved one just to be safe?
