Same general style of monitor as the Megaviews, so I'm sure of it.

I'm sure if you felt like it, you could put together some type of solution to pipe it to your L5, but the Dreamcast in VGA mode outputs RGBHV only. You'd need to throw something in there that would either combine H with V and hope your monitor accepts RGBS at 480p, OR find a way to merge those two into the Green line for RGsB.

For the former:

Just tried using an old Weller soldering gun as a degaussing wand of sorts.

While you can see that it is producing a field, it's not terribly strong, and really didn't do anything to get rid of the new patterns that I introduced with the drill.

I may need to go about opening it up and fiddling around with some magnets to deal with it. Considering my "put a speaker on it" method has worked so far, I'd like to say that placing a few magnets on the tube will hopefully be able to clear it up.

>you can also use some week magnets (like out of the sonic toothbrush) to equalize the impurity.
If you're talking about placing them on the tube itself, I've read somewhere about using those thin ones meant for refrigerator magnets.

Fry's has one for $40 US.

You should definitely do some reading on safety and things to avoid before opening it up. You could very easily end up electrocuting yourself if you touch the wrong thing by accident.

>plus you can also drain out all of the voltage safely and not have to worry about getting shocked at all.
This is true, but that's not an option if you need it on to see if what you're doing is having an effect.
