With all due respect, it doesn't really seem that bad. They are trying to do what the 2005 movie couldn't and are surprisingly transparent about the contents. The only problem is, its a video game movie with a made for netflix/tv budget so thats whats gonna make it a bomb

Yes, Paul Anderson of the RE live-action film notoriety is directing a Monster Hunter film and photos taken from recent shootings have military men with modern firearms. No surprise if his wife's character ends up as a giant Mary Sue again. And China will likely make it successful.

So yes, I have hopes that the new Doom movie won't be as shitty.

I'm going to have to agree, enemies don't actually go down much quickly at all. They're all fast and shit which is fine, but the weapons are just horseshit - contrary to what the mod description suggests. It feels like I'm barely above vanilla Doom weapons but with a reload mechanic by default. Yeah it's hard and it's a cool ZScript tech demo, but it's just not that fun to play as-is.

Actually, this is a very good comparison since it's essentially sped-up Doom with some outlying changes. Goddamn it Eric, all these slot changes still take me by surprise.
