Sega of America wanted to localize Popful Mail and replace the character with a new character that would be Sonic's Sister. But the people at Falcom didn't like it, as the Mega/ Sega CD game was a remake of an existing PC88/PC98 game. NEC made their own version of Popful Mail for the PCE-CDROM. Falcom made an original Popful Mail game for the Super Famicom in Japan. The Archie comics has this character Popful the Mail, as a weird tribute to the failed "Sister Sonic" localization.
