I'm sorry that I don't know for sure, but I've always heard that in general a cap switch on a Duo will do wonders for its reliability - especially since, as some people say, the PCB quality is higher than that of the Duo-R. It could also be an issue with the laser, but again, not too sure.

As far as console repairs, turbografxfan on ebay is known as a reliable PC Engine repairman. You could probably even shoot him a question or two via message and see what he has to say.

Right now I'm playing

Adventure Island (aka Wonder Boy 3)
-I've been on a big Wonder Boy kick on the Genesis, so this game is hitting all the right spots. I wish the sprites weren't recolored, but at least it's not as egregious as Bikkuriman World, redoing all of Wonder Boy in Monsterland's sprites as some line of collectible stickers, ugh.

Cotton (fantastic game)
-Had to sell a handful of games I hadn't played in a while to put together the funds for this. Worth it though, not only for cleaning out the collection but for getting in on an exciting shooter with a good, approachable difficulty. Cotton is cute! CUTE!

I've got an order of Mr Heli coming in; looking forward to some Irem charm.

Has anyone here played Alice in Wonderdream? Any opinions? I'm on the fence because platformers on the PC Engine are kind of in smaller supply vs. other genres (this problem doesn't exist on say, the Genesis/MD).
