This thing is magnificent. The screen is beautiful; it's like having a PVM for your old handhelds. The dot-matrix filters actually look like I'm playing on a dot-matrix display. The colors for colored games pop, and having the ability to change the displays is fun. ROM hacks are so much fun on this.

I've quickly gotten used to the buttons, too. They feel like great 8BitDo quality. The d-pad is larger than the standard Game Boy d-pad, and it's curved so that it hugs my thumb. ABXY has superb snappiness that I believe will age beautifully. The OS, combined with an Everdrive X7, bring the benefits of emulators without sacrificing the feeling of playing on a modernized Game Boy.
