Also what are these games. My favorite stuff was
Speedball / Brutal Football
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zkRB1Dhgxc
Chaos Engine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55jpHprP_ao
This completely blew my mind when I first saw it. I was on a C64 until this shit and only the PSX had more of an impact
Turrican II
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fvha_2hAzq0
Rtype II
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmRU7PPnljw
Leander
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yErm-YRYzjM
Sensible Soccer and the Sensible series in general
Cannon Fodder
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qc2fulUF64w
Putting music in intros was mind blowing at the time, these games were 80% sold on music
Sensible World of Soccer later did this, but the first one was better
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiaPZEhGdro
Lotus Turbo series
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQSsq7HCNHw
Shadow of the Beast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9BltSvKMlQ
Scared the heck out of me
Yo! Joe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmpsMRXpi5A
Magic Pockets also similar
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpcJ7lHO184
Chuck Rock holy shit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rm0eTagViU
Playing this with the band was a crowning moment of my life
A lot of the games were really dark, I remember Walker was extremely sad and gory
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uU4KAYkMt9k
Desert Strike
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-L4PvSNvlU
There were also games that I never played that much but were very scary or uncomfortable
Like Metal Mutants
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uo5yatHUVqU
There were also lots of games that had plain superior production value and were sponsored by shit like Chupa Chups or McDonald's
Mick & Mack
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy9_-iEdXAA
Cool Spot, Zool, were all similar
I felt bad for the final boss in Golden Axe when his own axe dropped on him
Apparently artist for pic rel who made a lot of shit now does furry porn which is unfortunate
Overall those were very good times, blessed computer I still have mine.

I am perplexed that you didn't use this as the OP
It's literally the most important game of the Euro-centric gaming space

Its getting to where I'm sure it's either a meme or a conspiracy to ignore Superfrog. To pretend that Superfrog didn't dominate has got to be a mem, right?

The importance of Superfrog cannot be overstated. OP, if you are truly about to pursue the Amiga, the single essential game you need is Superfrog. That game defined not only the platform but the entire gaming scene of the era.

Exactly. How convenient that everybody glosses over the fact that Superfrog singlehandedly saved, not just computer gaming, but gaming in general.
Maybe they are just too young to remember Superfrog taking the world by storm but the effects are still felt to this day.
