again, is the issue caused by the lava nails specifically? because I'd say a working HUD is preferrable to those - drop em. I can imagine people putting the laser minigun in their maps, less so with the alt ammo types.
don't know about Keep (wip afaik), but Drake can handle weapons occupying the same slot, has new ammo types, doesn't break HUD, all without CSQC

QSS, vkQuake and probably FTE all support multiple "-game" parameters these days. so you can run an AD map from a separate subfolder, for example.
